This is a bit of a work in progress.

I was trying to get a lowdown view point looking up from the water. The textures need work, but its quite pleasing….I love water! ;-)

Bryce5.5 and PSP.

Comments Welcome.

That is nice. Bryce is very good for water. The bullrush stems and leaf textures are fine, but the brown flower heads - if that is what they should be called - seem not quite right, but you are working on the textures so it isn't fair to judge them yet. I like Vue better than Bryce for plants and trees myself. I never got on with the Bryce tree creator and I love the Vue solid growth plants.

This is on the way to being a lovely image.

It's an excellent start Iceman.  It is very pleasing to the eye and I'm sure you'll figure the textures out!

Looks like it's coming along quite nicely. Can't wait to see the finished image.

I love the water and composition of this image.  The texture for the bullrushes must be hard to do though as they are quite unique.

BTW I will not be able to collect this for the monthly gallery as we limit the file size to 80KB to help people on dialup and to save our web space.

Thanks for your feedback... and I will post the updated version as soon as its done.

@Carol:

I like Vue better than Bryce for plants and trees myself.

Yes I love Vue too:cool:. So you do your work in Vue, great!  I use vue for photo-realistic things as your right that it does the plants and trees better than bryce. Vue is aimed at the top-end of the market IMO, but what I like Bryce for is that its a lot faster than Vue, but of cause to get the same(ish) kind of quality from bryce takes a lot more tweaking and messing about, so its swings and roundabouts.

But its great to have someone here who uses Vue....will have to get our heads together sometime ;-)

@Topsy:

BTW I will not be able to collect this for the monthly gallery as we limit the file size to 80KB to help people on dialup and to save our web space.

Ah, ok, I did not know about the monthly gallery, sorry about that!  Although I dont think I could get the picture down to 80k even if I reduced the colours and size of it, without ruining the look.
But I will remember for next time.

Thanks everyone for looking.:cool:

We have two monthly galleries, one for Just for Fun images and one for other images posted in Plus Place and here on 3D.

No problem, just thought I would let you know the file limit.  Have you tried optimising it or does that spoil the look of the image?

Yes I did, but I was not happy with its look. Still I know now so I will try to make pics that can be optimised if needed.

Ok after messing about a bit more I have managed to get it down to 80, and I can live with the slight quality drop.  Where should I upload it to Topsy so you can use it in the monthly gallery?

Thanks Iceman. I will include this in the monthly gallery. BTW it is normally displayed on the first of each month for a couple of days to allow members time to vote.
